Mediobanca is an Italian credit institution founded in 1946 by the initiative of Raffaele Mattioli and Enrico Cuccia (who has been the General Manager since its foundation in 1982). Today, the bank operates in international markets with offices in Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt, London, Moscow and New York.
During the past 200 years, the company has expanded its direct presence abroad: Paris (2004), Moscow and Luxembourg (2005), Frankfurt, Madrid and New York (2007), London (2008). The Italian offices, in addition to one in Rome, established in 1954, were opened in Bologna, Florence and Padua in 2005 and in Trieste in 2006.
Being one of the major players in country’s retail and business banking, Mediobanca also manages a portfolio of investments in leading companies in the fields of insurance, publishing and telecommunications.
